Welcome to a blog that will hopefully help save you some money and better your life. I'm just starting to learn how to save our family some money through the power of coupons, rebates, thrift stores, etc. So far it's working. We are a family of 5 - myself, my husband, A (my step-daughter age 5), H (age 2), and C (age 7 months). I will also post up tips from time to time on little ways to possibly better your life.
Tonight I spent only $1.00 on dinner for 3 adults (myself and my mom and dad) and two children (the youngest isn't on table foods yet). My three girls and I are visiting my side of the family. My grandmother (my girls' great-grandmother) bought them some clothes and got a completely wrong size for H. So I took it back to Wal-Mart and got $5 store credit. I had a coupon I clipped off a snack box (15 ct) of pizza rolls the other night for 50 cents off any size or flavor pizza rolls excluding the 15 ct box. I picked up the 70 count of pizza rolls. I also picked up a bag of fries for 50 cents. Yes. 50 cents! They are always priced that way at Wal-Mart so be on the lookout for those (it could be displayed as 2/$1. They're tiny shoestring fries (probably rejects) but for 50 cents, I don't mind getting my fingers messy in ketchup or something. The kids like them too because they are just their size. So between the $5.42 store credit I got from the return of H's outfit and the .50 coupon on the pizza rolls... I only spent about a dollar on dinner.
Bookmark this blog if you're interested in learning more about our money saving and how you can participate. I'll let you know what deals I find even if we may not have a need to use it ourselves. Some deals/coupons may require you to sign up for things. That's all up to you if you want to do that or not. If you don't want to junk up your regular email box... try making a free email with yahoo.com, gmail.com, hotmail.com or of the like. This way all the junk mail and newsletters will go exclusively to this thrify email account instead of to your regular mail.
Good luck and happy saving!
